About Us
Sophia's Story
Sophia was a beautiful, bubbly and smart little girl born on January 22, 2014.
She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at 9 years old - on April 23, 2023.
Over nearly 2 years, she endured 1 ovary tumor removal, 2 port placement surgeries, 9 rounds of chemotherapy, 12 bone marrow biopsies, 47 blood transfusions, 108 platelet transfusions, 8 lumbar punctures, 1 bone marrow transplant and countless hospital admissions. Sophia's leukemia was unfortunately so aggressive that it returned as
a more aggressive mutation. Sadly, the leukemia took her on December 3, 2024 - less than a week from her relapse date.
The SophiaStrong Foundation was established in order to to fund lifesaving research and support children with cancer and their families. We will work tirelessly in honor of Sophia.

Our Mission
The SophiaStrong Foundation was formed in 2025 by Sophia's mom and dad in order to continue Sophia's legacy and fight for other children affected by a cancer diagnosis. Sophia fought valiantly and the mission of the Foundation is continue the fight.
iThe SophiaStrong Foundation is s a small nonprofit whose main focus is to support the research of pediatric cancer treatment - striving for less toxic treatments for children.
We also fund resources and programs that help kids and families as they navigate the difficult experiences faced during cancer treatment.
